FROM 1952, THE YEAR IT WAS FOUNDED, TO 1970

Meloni started up as a local company that did repair work on agricultural vehicles, road construction vehicles and the transport sector in general. It soon began to specialise by constructing material-handling equipment and machinery for transforming building products according to customer specifications. The first manually operated lifting and handling machines were developed on a small scale.

THE ARTISAN PRODUCTION OF MACHINES BEGINS

Still characterized by craftsmanship, the first manually operated lifting machines and the first conveyor belts for handling manufactured goods or bulk materials were born: the early models counted on the drive of a combustion engine.

THE TRANSITION TO INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION

In a short time, thanks to outsourced design, internal manufacturing becomes industrial: skills are refined and the number of national customers grows.
The increasingly industrialized manufacturing process allows the development of more complex products and the expansion towards new sectors of use of melon products: transport and storage systems for bulk materials (building materials industry), lifting machines (manufacturing and metal -mechanics).

FROM 1970 TO 1980

In 1974 the company moved to the current mechanical production plant in Tolentino. The meloni® brand is born and with it the commercial department is activated. The mechanical and electromechanical design of the products is entrusted to a specific department within the company.

THE COMPANY BEGINS TO ENTER FOREIGN MARKETS

The doors of international markets begin to open. Even the product, while retaining personalized characteristics for the end customer, assumes a standardization of the basic components and manufacturing techniques.

FROM 1980 TO 2000

The company obtains the welding process certification. The introduction of CAD systems makes it possible to create ever more sophisticated lifting, handling and storage machines, which are able to satisfy the expectations of the national and international market, increasingly aimed at obtaining customized products.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRONICS JOIN THE MECHANICAL AND ELECTROMECHANICAL DESIGN

The refinement and production of traditional machines continues and at the same time the use of PLC and sensors on the machine is introduced: the automation of the first bridge cranes begins through the use of ad hoc design for the control software, which is initially outsourced to external resources. The company also makes use of the quality process certification.

FROM 2000 TO THE PRESENT DAY

In 2004 the Meloni® brand was purchased by Meloni Tecno-Handling s.r.l. The new company structure marked a period of expansion towards international markets and in 2010, they overtook the domestic market.
A company department has been set up to design the machine control software and work alongside electromechanical design. There has been a strong focus on customising products. Remote monitoring of systems has also been introduced in order to streamline procedures, customise work cycles and offer immediate support and assistance to continuous cycle machines.
